About me
Hi, I’m Jerzy, an architectural photographer based in Budapest, Hungary, and Warsaw, Poland. I believe every building tells a story – one of design, purpose, and the people it serves. My photography aims to capture these stories, showcasing not only the aesthetic beauty of architecture but also its functionality and relationship with its surroundings.
I immerse myself in each project, exploring how light interacts with space, how people experience the building, and how it fits within its environment. Whether it’s the bold lines of a modern skyscraper or the intricate details of a residential home, I strive to create images that reflect the unique vision behind each architectural endeavor.
Let’s work together to bring your building’s story to life. I’m available for projects in Hungary, Poland, and internationally. Reach out to discuss how my photography can help bring your vision into focus.
Why Architectural Photography Matters
High-quality architectural photography is more than just documentation—it’s storytelling. For architects, designers, and developers, professional photos are essential tools for communicating your vision and showcasing the relationship between form, function, and environment.
These images create impact. They attract potential clients and investors, enhance your credibility, and increase your visibility online. Whether it’s a residential, commercial, or public building, professional photography elevates your project and ensures it stands out in a competitive market.
The Process
Achieving stunning architectural photos involves preparation, collaboration, and careful attention to detail. Here's how each step looks like.
Before the Photoshoot
Project description: To begin, please provide a brief description of the project, including the location, type of venue, and the overall vision behind the design. It’s important to outline the primary objectives of the shoot, such as the desired number of images and their intended use (e.g., for marketing, publication, or client presentations). If available, please share any preview photos, walkthrough videos or visualizations of the space, as they will assist in planning and help me offer a more precise quote tailored to your needs.
Timing & Weather: Lighting plays a crucial role in how a building is perceived. I’ll plan for the best time of day and weather conditions to highlight your project’s unique qualities. Dusk and golden hour are particularly effective for exterior shots.
Site Preparation: Ensure the building is photo-ready—landscaping complete, surfaces clean, and construction elements like scaffolding or vehicles removed. If the space is still under construction, we can plan to highlight specific details or phases of the project. Even if the site isn’t fully finished, it’s still possible to capture impactful shots, as post-processing retouching can help enhance the final images and remove any unwanted elements.
Access & Permissions: Ensure that I’ll have access to all areas we want to photograph. Notify building managers or security teams ahead of time about the shoot.
Decluttering Interiors: For indoor shots, please remove any unnecessary furniture, decorations, or personal items. This ensures the architectural features remain the focal point. Additionally, make sure all surfaces are clean and polished. I also recommend checking that all lighting fixtures are functional and consistent in color temperature to avoid any unwanted color cast. This ensures a cohesive and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the space’s overall appeal.
During the Photoshoot
Professional Equipment: I’ll bring a professional camera, a variety of lenses, a tripod, and lighting tools to ensure precision and clarity, along with a laptop for on-site image previews to make sure everything aligns with your expectations
Collaborative Adjustments: Although I’ll take full responsibility for capturing your space, I value your input throughout the shoot. If you have any specific preferences or ideas, I’ll always consider them. As a photographer, I view the space through a different lens than an architect, so combining both perspectives is essential for achieving the best possible outcome. I’ll work alongside you to make adjustments—whether it's repositioning furniture, adding props, or adjusting the framing to highlight the finest details.
Highlighting Unique Features: From standout architectural details to the way light interacts with the space, I’ll focus on the elements that make your design truly unique and ensure they’re captured at their best.
After the Photoshoot
Image Selection & Editing: After the shoot, I’ll conduct a basic edit and select the best images based on lighting, composition, and overall impact. These initial selections will be sent to you for your review, allowing you to choose your preferred shots. Once you've made your selection, I will proceed with full editing and retouching. All editing and retouching is done by me, ensuring direct communication and a quick turnaround. If you have any specific requests or preferences regarding the edits, please share them at this stage, before the retouching begins. This ensures that the final images reflect your vision perfectly.
Final Delivery: Once the images are fully edited, I’ll deliver the high-resolution files digitally, along with a usage license for your website, print materials, or other marketing purposes. Typically, delivery takes 5-7 working days, though the timeline may vary depending on the number of selected photos and the complexity of the retouching.
